As with motor insurance, policy costs for young inexperienced riders will be high. Another cost saving option offered by some insurers is the ability to switch between fully comprehensive cover in the summer and third party insurance during the winter months when the bike isn't used very much. Again you need to think carefully about the way that you use your bike and decide if this option would suit you.

Cost for policies that allow use of the bike as a motorcycle courier or fast food delivery vehicle will be considerably higher than normal social domestic and pleasure usage, but the cover is available from Northern Irish insurers if you need it.
